A 17-year-old Indian girl died in an unfortunate accident while weightlifting at a gym.
Yashtika Acharya, 17, had a fatal accident while training with a coach at a gym in the Bikaner region of western India on Wednesday, February 19th.

According to a report from the UK, a girl attempted to lift a 272 kilogram barbell but due to an operational error, the barbell slipped and pressed against her neck, causing her to faint on the spot. Despite being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, she was ultimately declared dead.

The report also stated that she was training under the guidance of her coach at the time. Although the coach tried to help, he was unable to stop the barbell from falling, and the coach's face was injured as a result.
